Transport

There is a very good public transport system – bus and train and two railway stations (Victoria Station, London approximately 20 minutes journey time) with services also to Charing Cross, Waterloo, London Bridge, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone, Canterbury and Hastings.

Marketing
The Merchants Association annual budget for promoting the Glades is approximately £900,000.

The Town Centre Initiative spent £60k on marketing Bromley in 1999.

The Glades ‘in centre’ marketing package includes staff and customer magazines, directories and shopper guides, high quality Christmas decorations, Christmas grotto (10,500 children visited in 2002), fashion shows, posters, leaflets and flyers in support of seasonal events and promotions. Banners are used to promote key messages. The Glades hosts a number of events in centre including the annual Garden Show in Queens Gardens. The Glades also has a Gift Voucher and Gift Card Scheme.

Waterstone’s in The Glades has hosted book signing opportunities for some important authors, including Joan Collins, Michael Crawford, Meatloaf, Jilly Cooper, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Shane Warne and Ainsley Harriot and others – a good customer draw during weekdays and weekends.
